Naturally Africa is +95% naturally derived and clean, meaning that each product is cruelty-free, with a vegan-friendly formula.

Naturally Africa was born in Muizenberg, a vibrant coastal community in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded to support and redefine the textured hair community, Naturally Africa offers a range of gentle yet effective products. The range will assist in tending to and transforming your gorgeous hair, naturally.

The Purpose
Naturally Africa was founded by a diverse group of women at The Cape Town Toiletry Company. These women identified the need for a haircare range that provides textured hair with the sustenance and gentle touch needed for hair to look its best.

Each member of the Naturally Africa team invested a piece of themselves in the creation of this internationally relevant brand. For the long-standing members of the team, this was an opportunity to share their knowledge and industry insights with colleagues, helping them learn and grow. Everyone from interns to directors contributed to this passion project’s success.

Natashka Venter
Natashka Venter is a Research & Development Scientist, with over 10 years of experience in the FMCG industry and is currently the Technical Manager superstar at The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
Natashka grew up in small farm towns where she was always a part of a close-knit community. Natashka joined the Cape Town Toiletry Company a little over two years ago where she is now a key member of the team - it would be hard to visualise the company without her. Natashka is a multi-skilled individual who is not only creative and innovative but an inspiration to her colleagues. Her passion, creative thinking, resilience and attention to detail are all characteristics which contribute to challenging the industries norm and elevating each of her projects to a higher standard.
Natashka hopes to broaden her experience within the international market and expand her knowledge and skills by spending more time working with and developing global brands.
Simbabalwe Somlota
Simbabalwe Somlota is the Senior Technical and Quality Assurance lead at The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
Sim had a Xhosa upbringing, rich in culture and grounded in her Christian values. She has always had a strong interest in the personal care and cosmetic industry which led her to pursue her studies in Skin and Hair Anatomy at UCT where she completed her BSc Honours in Formulation Science.
Since joining The Cape Town Toiletry Company in 2018, her unique outlook and drive to succeed has helped shape her into a key member of the technical team.
Her fresh outlook, diligence, bubbly personality and passion radiate throughout her work. Sim hopes to continue to grow and advance her role by developing new and innovative products in the cosmetic space.
Cindy-Lee Griffiths
Cindy-Lee Griffiths is the Senior Sales and Logistics coordinator at The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
With a background in events, Cindy honed her expert people skills over many years. Since joining the team 7 years ago, Cindy has developed extensive industry knowledge, a thorough understanding of the production process and grown to become a key member of the team.
Her energy and positive spirit radiate throughout the office, she manages to brighten the day of all who surround her.
Cindy is a key component in ensuring that all international orders are processed, packaged and delivered on time. She is the point of reference and support structure for colleagues and customers alike, her attention to detail, methodical approach, transparency and excellent customer service ensures that the sales and logistical process are consistent and continues to run smoothly.
Sam Clifton
Sam Clifton is the Planning and Procurement manager of The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
She is passionate and dedicated to the business and has been an invaluable member of the team for over 11 years.
Sam has invested a large portion of her time in getting to know and understand each member of her team, in doing this she has learned what makes them tick and how best to work with them as to ensure that they are able to reach their full potential. Sam is someone who embodies the company’s core values and is passionate about helping others amd expects excellence, for those who are willing to learn she is more than willing to train and teach.
She is someone that her peers and the company can rely on to get the job done regardless of any challenges or obstacles she may face. Her solution-based outlook, commitment and dedication are evident by the success she has made of her department at The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
Zelda Miller
Zelda Muller is the Production Forman at The Cape Town Toiletry Company with over fifteen years in the bath and body care industry.
Zelda was originally employed as a receiving clerk and over the past six years, has worked her way through the ranks to where she is now. Zelda has spent a lot of time working closely with Sam where she has had the opportunity to grow and develop her skills (both personally and professionally). One of the many things that she loves about working at The Cape Town Toiletry Company is that she has the opportunity to take risks and fail and be commended for trying.
Zelda runs a tight ship and has earned the respect of her peers, her love and commitment to the company is something that she hopes to pass on to her subordinates. Her experience in every department has afforded her keen eye and attention to detail as well as the ability to react quickly to any issues that she may face. Over the years she has grown confident in her abilities to make important decisions, meet time-sensitive deadlines and communicate well with all members of the team.
In the future, she hopes to gain more experience in the export department and pass on all that she has learned to her team. Zelda is an exemplary team member and encompasses everything that the company values.
Berne van Zyl
Berne van Zyl is the head of Design at The Cape Town Toiletry Company.
Berne has been the creative backbone at The Cape Town Toiletry Company for over five years. Since joining the team (shortly after completing her BA in Graphic Design) she has blossomed and shaped the department into what it is today. Her ability to multitask, expand and adapt her skills to any task she is allocated is commendable.
She is grounded in her values and puts her heart into all that she does. She believes that design allows people to see the world with the same tenacity as she does.
In addition to the above, Berne also manages the team events department – her kindness and warm nature shape the company culture as she ensures that all members of the team take a moment to step away from their work and interact socially.
